Are you looking for a unique, hands-on experience that blends creativity, mindfulness, and sustainable practices? Look no further than UDUMBARA Ceramics Studio in Kallioi! Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, our pottery wheel workshops offer the perfect chance to get your hands dirty, have fun, and create something beautiful.
At UDUMBARA, you’ll be learning from Eva Spoof, a professional artisan ceramist and designer with years of experience. Eva guides you through the intricacies of pottery in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, helping you understand the joy and challenge of working with clay. While English is the main language of instruction, we’re happy to accommodate Finnish, Swedish, or any other language, as long as someone can interpret.
Why Choose UDUMBARA’s Pottery Wheel Workshops?
Our workshops are all about crafting with intention. You’ll be using 100% Finnish Kultela wild clay, sourced from the Ojala field in Somero SouthWestern Finland. This clay is perfect for making planter pots, which is one of UDUMBARA’s signature products! During the workshop, you’ll learn how to throw flowerpots on the wheel, which can be a bit like playing the piano—it seems easy, but it requires patience and practice to master. But don’t worry, even your first imperfect creations will have their own unique charm.
UDUMBARA is more than just a ceramics studio. Since 1994, it’s been a cultural icon in Kallio, known for its deep connection to contemporary Finnish craftsmanship and eco-conscious practices. Every piece you make with us carries the essence of Finland, with its earthy tones and slow-made philosophy.

The pottery wheels we use in our courses are designed for adults, so we recommend weekly workshops for teenagers and older. However, all ages are welcome to enjoy working with clay and have fun in our private workshop! Take a look inside the studio: UDUMBARA Studio 360.
