Why Mindful Pottery?
Pottery and mindfulness go hand in hand. Working with clay requires presence, patience, and an openness to the process—qualities that naturally cultivate a deeper sense of awareness. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced potter, our retreats provide a space for creativity and self-reflection.
A Weekend of Creativity & Reflection
Our small-group retreats (limited to six participants) are guided by Eva Spoof, an experienced artisan ceramist and dedicated student of presence. Over two days, you’ll explore wheel-throwing fundamentals while deepening your connection with clay through mindful practice.

What to Expect:
- Silent Tea Meditations – Each session begins and ends with a 25-minute silent tea meditation, grounding you in the present moment.
- Wheel-Throwing & Clay Work – On Saturday, you’ll focus on centering, pulling, and shaping Kultela wild clay into planter pots. Sunday is for trimming, decorating, and refining.
- Potluck Lunch – We provide fresh salad and bread; you bring a dish to share. Food is part of mindfulness!
- Sustainability and Ethics at Heart: UDUMBARA Helsinki Pottery proudly uses Finnish native clay and holds a Green Travel Seal certification and Sustainable Travel Finland label.
